The Khyber Medical University (KMU), Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Hafizullah emphasised upon students to equip themselves with contemporary studies and skills to bring positive change in health care delivery and medical education, and also be a good human being and practicing Muslims.

The Vice Chancellor visited KMU-Institute of Medical Sciences (KMU-IMS), Kohat in connection to start the 1st Year MBBS classes at KMU-IMS and to launch integrated teaching system for 1st year MBBS. He was also accompanied by Registrar Dr Fazal Mahmud, Treasurer Gul Azad Khan and Director Academics Professor Dr Shad Mohammad of the University, while Principal of the college Professor Dr Salim Khattak along with senior faculty warmly welcomed the KMU team on that occasion.

During the interaction with new comers to KMU-IMS, the VC emphasised upon them to equip themselves with latest knowledge and skills so that when they graduated from here, they should be instrumental and bringing in positive changes in health care delivery and medical education, at the same time be good human being.

Before that during the interaction with the newly selected teaching faculty members, VC KMU Dr Hafizullah enquired about model for KMU-IMS and appreciated that integrated time table for 1st year MBBS has been prepared and directed to implement the same in true spirit.

After meeting with students, the VC chaired a meeting of all faculty and discussed in detail issues related to KMU-IMS. He showed great satisfaction on the progress made so for and promised the faculty to address issues faced by the faculty. He also thanked the Higher Education Department for lending; its girls hostel to be used by the students of KMU-IMS. The VC Dr Hafiz expressed hope that KMU-IMS will be developed as a model medical college of the region with the joint effort of students, faculty and administration of Khyber Medical University.
