Speaker in a seminar held in connections with International Human Rights Day have demanded of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for appointment of ombudsperson for cases of sexual harassment at workplace with immediate effect and revision of the decision of the closing women crisis centres in the province.

The seminar held under the auspices of Blue Veins in collaboration with CRSD besides Programme Co-ordinator. The activity was part of 16 days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children takes place every year from November 25 to December 10. The period includes Universal Children's Day and World AIDS Day. The campaign provides an opportunity to make people aware of the negative impact of violence against women and children and to act against abuse.

The participants also demanded putting an end to impunity on issues relating to violence against women and called upon both government and NGOs to focus on men, until they are involved in the efforts to end violence against women cannot succeed. They also called for unveiling details of al bilateral projects between the government and UN agencies through media to evaluate the success of all such projects and play the role of watchdog in this regard.
