The Sindh Assembly on Thursday carried out amendment to its rules of procedures to accommodate the former lawmaker, Syed Murad Ali Shah in the house despite the opposition protested against the move. The opposition members called the amendment against the Constitution of Pakistan, while the ruling PPP termed it justified.

Immediately, the house resumed it business after 20 days with Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro in the chair, lawmaker of National People's Party (NPP), Arif Mustafa Jatoi pointed at Murad Ali Shah who was seated on treasury benches despite he had resigned a week ago for dual national issue as lawmaker.

Soon after the protest, Murad Ali Shah left the house, until the amendment was made to accommodate him as non-elected member of the assembly. However, opposition continued to protest the move. Nisar Khuhro said in 1991 the former Chief Minister Sindh, late Jam Sadiq Ali's son Jam Mashooq Ali had been accommodated on the treasury bench as non-elected member of the assembly. He, however, after the death of Jam Sadiq was elected to the assembly, the Speaker said.
