Senator Shahi Syed while talking to this scribe said that the committee was going to decide about the case on December 7, as MD KESC did not appear before the body on December 3. The Sindh High Court (SHC) had recently ordered that the CEO of KESC be not arrested till December 3 under a warrant issued against him by the Senate's standing committee for his failure to appear before the committee.
The interim order had come on a petition filed by Tabish Gohar against the arrest warrant issued by the Senate standing committee for not appearing before it. Tabish Gohar had been invited to an important meeting of the standing committee which was held to analyze production capacity, determine the output produced by KESC, to ascertain the per unit production cost and to obtain the details of the power supplied to it by Wapda. KESC, instead, had suggested the members of the committee that they should visit Karachi and inspect all facilities of the company.
