Security sources on Wednesday warned of more terror activities in Karachi during the next 23 days. In a report forwarded to high police officials, the security agencies warned that the militants might use planted devices to launch terror attacks before Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) official told media persons that the militants were foiled to launch a major assault during the first 10 days of Muharram and there were strong indications that they might try to launch deadly attacks during next 23 days. It is to be mentioned here that the government suspended mobile services, imposed ban on pillion riding and increased patrolling of law enforcement authorities during the first 10 days of Muharram which prevented any major attack in the city.
