The Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Dr Ajmal Psychological Society have begun at the Government College University Lahore. This week-long celebrations includes seminar psychology, lecturers by eminent psychologists, poster exhibition and various competitions that aim to celebrate the life and work of the late Dr Muhammad Ajmal, the former principal of Government College Lahore and founder of psychology in Pakistan.

Vice Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman inaugurated the celebrations at a graceful ceremony at GCU Psychology Department. Dean Faculty of Science Professor Dr Islam Ullah Khan and Psychology Department Chairman Dr Asir Ajmal were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the intricate relationship between psychology and religion, and stated that it was psychologists' duty to help propagate wisdom in society. He stressed the dire need to rescue the institute of education in Pakistan from degradation.
