Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Punjab leadership adopted a resolution here on Sunday in support of party chief Altaf Hussain's earlier statement alleging that the remarks made by a judge of the Supreme Court regarding delimitation of constituencies in Karachi were biased.

In the resolution the MQM provincial leaders called upon President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take notice of the Judge's remarks. They opined that such remarks would injure spirit of the people's mandate and create polarisation in the provinces. The participants of the meeting carried placards saying "murder of people of Karachi mandate is unacceptable" and "any delimitation without new census will be unconstitutional."

The meeting was attended by Members Central Executive Committee Syed Shaheen Anwar Gilani, Tahira Asif, Dr Shahzad Shamsie, and members provincial organising committee Tahir Mahmood, Incharge Lahore Zone Waseem Khokhar and others.
