Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Saturday nabbed over 80 suspects including the members of banned outfits and recovered huge cache of weapons and explosive material during search operation at Sultanabad, Mangophir area. According to sources and eye-witnesses, on early Saturday, over 2000 rangers' personnel including female personnel, commandos, snipers and others cordoned off Sultanabad, Mangopir area and sealed all entry and exit points.

They said that over 80 suspects including the members of banned outfits were taken into custody during door-to-door search that continued for over four hours. Sources said some seven suspects were shifted to an unknown place while the custody of the rest of the others was transferred to the police after initial interrogation. Sources further said that two members of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi namely Kamran alias Kalo and Murad Ali Shah were among these seven suspects.

They said that Kalo and Murad were said to be experts in making motorcycle bombs while others namely Mujahid alias Rana, Gul Zaheen, Shahaad alias Qari and Gul Jannat were the members of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Sources said that the search operation was conducted on the information of detained persons, which revealed that the mastermind of the rangers' headquarters' blast and the bike blasts were hiding in the area.

They said that the paramilitary rangers during the operation had recovered a place where Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was made and added that they had also recovered ball bearing, nuts, explosive, circuits and other material, which is used in making bombs from the said place. Sources added that rangers' helicopters were also roaming in the air for surveillance. Meanwhile eye-witnesses said that the area was fully surrounded by the LEAs and detained people, who were blindfolded with their hands tied.

They said the inhabitants of the area also staged protest demonstration when the rangers' personnel restricted them to go out of the area for performing burial ritual of an infant. The protesters pelted stones on the personnel that left private TV reporter and a cameraman injured.
