A meeting of Inter-Public Service Commissions was held here in the Conference Room of Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with chairman, Federal Public Service Commission (FPDC), former Justice Rana Baghwandas in the chair on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by chairmen and representatives of public service commissions of Sindh, Punjab, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On this occasion, chairman, Public Service Commission, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sahibzada Riaz Noor gave presentation to the participants of the meeting.

The meeting discussed an eight-item agenda and discussed the matter of the submission of applications on the basis of dual domiciles by candidates from 24 settled districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA). Addressing the meeting Chairman, FPSC, Justice (Retd) Baghwandas expressed his excitement while addressing an inter-provincial meeting of Inter-Public Service Commission in Peshawar. He said that individuals come and go, but institutions remains intact. He said that selection of candidates for public sector vacancies on pure merit sans likes and dislikes had remained high traditions of the service commissions. He urged members of commission for adherence to the rule of law and selection of candidates on strict merit without payment of any heed to the whims of politicians.

He told the meeting that a meeting of the chairmen of SAARC countries Public Service Commissions is scheduled in Marriott Hotel, Islamabad from December 4 to 6, 2012 and invited chairmen and members of all four provincial public service commissions to attend it.
