The Jamaat-i-Islami has decided to move the Lahore High Court for reopening the murder case of Dr Nazir, JI MNA from D.G. Khan, who was assassinated on June 8, 1972. He was a strong critic of PPP and its founder chairman Z.A. Bhutto. JI Spokesman, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, said here on Tuesday that the JI had already set up a panel of legal experts for the purpose.

The panel includes former Justice Sheikh Khizar Hayat and advocates Asad Manzur Butt, Ziaud Din Ansari and Mian Muhammad Ramzan, brother of Dr Nazir Shaheed. Dr Nazir, who was elected MNA in 1970 elections, was killed at his clinic in broad-day light while he was attending his patients.
