Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday made large scale reshuffling in top level bureaucracy. The Establishment division has issued notifications in this respect. The reshuffle encompasses a number of bureaucrats who were promoted to grade 22 on September 9, 2010. According to the official of Establishment division federal government appointed Ghulam Dastgir Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Previously, he was serving as additional chief secretary in the province. Services of former Chief Secretary Javed Iqbal have been returned to federal government. He will replace Federal Secretary Ministry of Water and Power as Shahid Rafi is going to retire on October 1, 2010.

Secretary Science and Technology K.B. Rind has been transferred as Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare. Former Additional Director General Economic Crime Wing Federal Investigation Agency, Irfan Nadeem has been given new assignment as secretary Ministry of Science and Technology.

Wajid Rana has been given status of special secretary, Ministry of Finance. He will replace Asif Bajwa who has been transferred and appointed as Secretary Statistics Division. Former Secretary Statistic Division Saeed Ahmed Khan has been posted as Secretary Overseas Pakistanis. Athar Tahir relinquished his charge as secretary Ministry of Social Welfare and has been appointed Secretary Education.

Additional Secretary of Ministry of Food and Agriculture Shahid Hussain Raja has been made Secretary Ministry of Railways. He will replace Samiullah Khilji who reached superannuation. Meanwhile, Additional Secretary Ministry of Commerce Shafqat Naghmi has been transferred to Food and Agriculture Ministry as Additional Secretary.

The division has also notified Arif Azeem as Incharge Ministry of Manpower. Captain Tahir Shafi has become new Additional Secretary Ministry of Industries and production. In another surprise move, federal government has made Press Information Officer, Chaudhry Rasheed as officer on special duty as Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira was unhappy with him.
