The Planning Commission has decided to revise the PC-1 for social sectors projects, objectively covering 'Gender' and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). A revision was initiated and consultation was held with all provincial governments, government of AJK and federal social sector ministries, who all supported the revision, says a press release.

The revision makes analysis of gender concerns an integral part of the planning process. Now, the revised PC-1 would contain information on gender focus in respect of description, justification and technical parameters, project benefits and analysis, management structure and manpower requirements including specialised skills during execution and operational phases have been included for all social sector developmental projects in future. The new format would make incorporation of gender concerns an integral part of the planning and approval process.
