Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that Pakistan Television (PTV) is a leading media organisation of the country and drama writers, producers and artistes have played a pivotal role in making the PTV a success story.

He was addressing the PTV directors conference at the PTV headquarters here on Saturday. Managing Director Ashraf Azeem and Director Programmes Khawaja Najam-ul-Hassan were also present. Senator Durrani said the artistes have potential to draw new trends to the lore in a traditional manner.

The Information Minister hoped that the artistes, directors and management would strengthen PTV's dialogue and co-ordination with other media organisations and these initiatives would bear fruit in future. MD PTV said the holding of the conference was the first step towards positive changes and drama writers and directors could strengthen these changes.

Director Programmes Kh. Najam-ul-Hassan said a talent pool has been established which would work on regular basis to bring forth new and innovative ideas to better the PTV programmes.

He said PTV believed in team work and the same spirit would be revived to achieve glory. Munnu Bhai, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Yunus Javed, Hasina Moeen, Samina Pirzada, Sahira Kazmi, Nusrat Thakur, Marina Khan, Noor-ul -Huda Shah, Humaira Ahmed, Sarmad Khosat, Tariq Miraj, Shaukat Zain-ul-Aabideen, Zafar Miraj, Ahsan Talish, Ali Rizvi and others attended the conference.
