Despite the fact that Pakistan is the fifth largest milk producing country in the world, its dairy sector was ignored by the private as well as government sectors.

The country manager GEA Group (Global Engineering Alliance)Germany in Pakistan, Imran Malik, said this while addressing the opening ceremony of his company's office here on Wednesday.

Malik maintained that Pakistan is agriculture country and by giving due attention to its livestock sector, positive results can be achieved. Promotion of livestock sector would ultimately strengthen the country's economy. The GEA's marketing head Joachim Haase and Process Engineering Division head Peter Baasch also spoke on the occasion.

It may be mentioned that GEA Group (Global Engineering Alliance) Germany is one of the world's leading and innovative suppliers of dairy and food process engineering.

Peter Baasch said that GEA provides solution with a strong heritage in milk farming equipment, milk cooling equipment, farm hygiene systems, processes starting from milk reception, pasteurisation, standardisation, theorisation, UHT for varied milk related products including processed milk, yoghurt, butter, desi ghee, cheese etc.
