Malkhana building of District and Sessions Court Sukkur was blown up following a powerful explosion at about 12:00 midnight on Saturday. According to official sources, grenades, cartridges and firecrackers were stored in the Malkhana of the old building of the Sessions Court.

The stock caught fire due to excessive heat in the building and a powerful explosion was heard in a radius of four to five miles. After this the four walls and roof fell to the ground. According to security staff of the Malkhana, no injury or death occurred due to the incident.

Fire fighting outfit of Sukkur Taluka Administration rushed to the spot and the fire, which broke out as a result of the explosion, was extinguished after an hour.
