Namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayers) of Mian Miraj Din, Senior Vice President of PML Punjab and a former provincial minister, was offered here on Sunday, and later he was laid to rest at Madhu Lal Hussian Graveyard. The funeral was attended by a large number of people, including Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid, provincial minister Zaheeruddin, a former President of Pakistan, Rafique Tarar, former Chief Justice Dr Nasim Hassan Shah, Lahore District Government Nazim Amir Mahmood, Majid Nizami, Mian Azhar, Khawaja Ihsan and Justice Javid Iqbal.

Sh Rashid condoled with his family, friends and colleagues.

Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi also visited the residence of late Miraj Din and condoled with his wife and sons Hamid Miraj and Ahmed Miraj. He expressed heartfelt sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Mian Miraj Din and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family.

Pervaiz said that Mian Miraj Din rendered invaluable services for Pakistan Muslim League. He remained a committed Muslim Leaguer till his last breath and his services for organising Muslim League and promoting patriotism would always be remembered, he added.

President PML Lahore Mian Muhammad Munir, Akhlaq Guddoo and Town Nazim Tariq Sana Bajwa were also present on this occasion.
