Speakers at a reference here on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to late Raja Muhammad Anwar for his services for the cause of lawyer's community and independence of judiciary. Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) organised the reference which was addressed by vice-president SCBA Nazir Ahmed Ghazi, vice-chairman Pakistan Bar Council Raja Mehmood Akhtar, former presidents of SCBA Hamid Khan, Abid Hassan Minto, A.Karim Malik, vice-chairman Punjab Bar Council Asghar Gill, former president Lahore High Court Bar Association Ahmed Awais and Mehreen Anwar, daughter of late Raja Anwar.

The speakers maintained that late Raja Muhammad Anwar was an honest and true professional, who worked devotedly in the larger interests of the nation as well as the country.

They said that late Raja Muhammad Anwar also waged a struggle for independence of judiciary, revival of constitution and strengthening of democracy in the country.
