A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) Hyderabad Circuit on Wednesday issued bailable warrants against Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi and five others on State's appeal against their acquittal in September 30 Hyderabad massacre case.

SHC's division bench comprised Justice Syed Zawar Hussain Jaffery and Justice Azizullah M Memon.

As many as 34 persons including Dr Magsi were acquitted by Additional District and Sessions Court Hyderabad in the killing cases of 200 people named 'September 30 Hyderabad massacre case'.

On last hearing, the court summoned all 33 accused for 27 October 2004. The lawyers for others had appeared in the court.

It may be recalled 200 persons were killed in various parts of Hyderabad on 30 September 1988. Hyderabad police had filed 68 cases among them 25 cases were filed at City police station, 23 at Market Police Station, 16 at Latifabad A Section Police Station, 2 at Hatri and 2 at Phuleli Police Station.

Police had nominated Dr Qadir Magsi and 33 others all belonging to Jeay Sindh Tehrik. Others included Amir Bhambhro (now chairman of Sindh National Party), Shafi Burfat (now chairman of Jeay Sindh Mutahida Mahaz), Janoo Arain, Dr Humayoon Kazi, Mehboob Abro (now convener of Qasimabad Action Committee), Dr Dawood Otho, Hassan Chandio, Nawab Leghari, Dr Azeem Kundher, Dr Qadeer Memon, Munawar Leghari (now Chairman World Singh Congress), Dr Hamid Memon, Karim Leghari, Dr Mazhar Memon and others. Dr Qadir Magsi was arrested along with Dr Humayoon Kazi on October 01, 1988.
