The container vessel, M.V. Ghazi with a load of cargo destined for Dubai has disappeared in rough seas. The fate of the vessel owned by a Dubai shipping company, which had left the Karachi Port on its maiden voyage on July 24, is not yet known.

The shipping agent of the company "Serious Logistics" said in Karachi on Wednesday that the vessel was due to reach Dubai on July 26 but he has lost radio contact with the vessel. He has contacted the Maritime Security Agency (MSA) to search for the vessel and its crew.

The vessel is carrying 65 containers of mango worth Rs 20 million in addition to general cargo.

Last week a boat carrying cargo for Dubai had drowned in high seas near Karachi.
