Director General Pakistan Rangers Major General Javid Raza, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Anwar Haider, IG Sindh Syed Kamal Shah, AIG Sukkur Rahoo Khan Brohi, General Manager SSGC Brigadier Mukhtar (Retd) and GM Operations Saeedul Zafar and other were present on the occasion.
General Manager SSGC Brigadier Mukhtar (Retd) thanked Rangers and Police for extending co-operation regarding gas pipelines security.
IG Police Sindh and Additional Chief Secretary Sindh suggested officials of SSGC to take solid steps for security of gas installation in interior.
Chief Secretary stressed the need for co-ordination between all the departments and sought recommendations for implementation on plan about security of gas installation.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held under the chair of Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Mutawakkil Kazi to review steps for stopping digging of Malir riverbed and lifting of Reti Bejri.
DCO Karachi Mir Hussain Ali told the meeting that legal action was being taken against the individuals or groups involved in lifting of Reti Bejri and there has been no violation of ban imposed on lifting of Reti Bejri.
Chief Secretary clarified that enforcement of law and its implementation was responsibilities of all the citizens.
Officials of Five Corps pointed out some points about encroachment on Malir Bund. The meeting decided that comprehensive recommendations will be presented in this regard in the next meeting.
Chief Planning and Development Rehana Memon presented her report about the development and security steps taken for the Malir riverbed.
Chief Secretary directed Planning and Development Department of Sindh Government to co-ordinate with Five Corps and City District Government Karachi. He also directed member Land Utilisation Board of Revenue Riyaz Ahmed Khan, DCO Karachi Mir Hussain Ali and representative of Planning and Development department to visit Malir riverbed along a team of Five Corps.
