In a thrilling encounter Mardan staged a strong comeback by surprising Karak 4-3 in the ongoing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Football Championship being played in front of a good number of vociferous crowd here at Sumbal Khan Football ground, Qayyum Sports Complex on Tuesday.

It was a complete turned over with Karak leading by three goals to one when Mardan came from behind and handed over a surprising 4-3 defeat. The players of the two teams were really superficial and moved like a robotic approach right from the outset of the match with some beautiful short-passes and attacking inroads turned the whole complexion of the game into a melodious one. The largely number of crowds were there with thundering applause with each move and even till the end of the final whistle it was unpredictable who will be the winner.

Surprisingly Mardan, conceding first goal in the 4th minute when center striker Adnan slammed in a beautiful goal from the 25-yard area and Manzoor, the right winger and mid-fielder Sheharyar scored one goal each to make the tally 3-0. Earlier, before the start of the match President FATA Olympic Association Shahid Khan Shinwari was the chief guest and the players of both Mardan and Karak were introduced to him. Organizing Secretary international footballer Basit Kamal, member organizing Committee Zahir Shah and other office-bearers of the Peshawar District Football Association were also present.
