Peshawar Rapid Bus Transit system comes closer to reality as three senior staff members assumed responsibility on Thursday 10th August 2017. TransPeshawar (The Urban Mobility Company), was established by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to oversee construction, operations and management of Peshawar BRT.

The Board of TransPeshawar Company has appointed Altaf Durrani as its CEO, Fayyaz Khan as General Manager Planning & Construction and Mohammad Imran Khan as the General Manager Operations & Marketing.

All three appointments were made following a competitive process of recruitment. The Chair of the Board Javed Iqbal stated that it was an open and transparent process and attracted applicants from within the country and abroad. We are fortunate enough to have filled three most senior posts with applicants who have extensive experience of the sector and we are confident that their skills will enable TransPeshawar to be one of the best urban transport management companies in Pakistan.

Altaf Durrani has assumed charge of his post as the Chief Executive of the company. He graduated from UET Peshawar and completed his Masters in Civil Engineering at University of New Brunswick (Canada) and has been working for the City of Calgary (Canada) Transport Department as Project Coordinator.

He has an engineering and management background with extensive experience of working at senior management in the sector. He stated that Peshawar BRT is a well conceived programme to bring state of the art transport system for the city. I am delighted to have this opportunity and look forward using my experience from Canada gained over twenty years to ensure a first class transport service for the citizens of Peshawar.

Fayyaz Khan also secured his Masters degree from the University of Ontario Canada and has worked for the Ministry of Transport, Alberta, Canada and worked for an international company as Resident Engineer in Qatar prior to taking this post.

Imran Khan is also a graduate of UET Peshawar and did his Masters in Urban Planning and Transportation system from Hanyang University in Korea. He has worked on the development of the BRT System in Lahore, Islamabad and Multan and until recently was working on the Lahore Orange Train Project.

Both Fayyaz Khan and Imran Khan stated that BRT Peshawar is an exciting programme that can contribute to not only by providing first class travel but also help shape the economy of the city through increased commercial activity given the infrastructure improvements. It's a privilege to be part of this new and dynamic project from the outset.
