This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "We're heading towards a normalized Pakistan" carried by the newspaper on Sunday. According to it, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said Pakistan is heading towards a normalized country where the writ of the state and supremacy of law would be second to none.

The Army Chief was visiting the Rajgal Valley of Khyber Agency where he was given a detailed briefing on progress of Operation Khyber-IV. His remarks constitute, in a way, a profound message on the country's 70th birth anniversary. Our Quaid had defined Pakistan as an Islamic welfare state and a society based on justice. General Bajwa has given this nation a legitimate hope for a better, fairer Pakistan.

Unfortunately, however, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's planned GT Road show against the apex court's verdict seems to have been aimed at undermining, among other things, the festivities ahead of Independence Day on August 14.
