Further, KE would like to clarify that its officials were unable to attend the meeting called on September 26, 2019 by the Senate Standing Committee, as the meeting invitation was received at KE's office a day after the scheduled date of the meeting. KE would engage with the respective government departments to ensure that notices are sent on timely basis so that KE can ensure full participation and look forward to their support, says a press release. A spokesman of KE further stated that tragic incidents which occurred during the recent torrential rains, KE is deeply saddened and sympathizes with the affected families. It is, however, important to mention that many of these unfortunate incidents occurred inside homes due to faulty wiring, unsafe use of electrical appliances or because of kundas and the unwarranted placement of cable TV and internet wires on electricity poles.
KE is extending full cooperation to various stakeholders in the investigation process and has submitted its response to the authority within stipulated time. The power utility is also committed to undertake required remedial measures in the light of investigation results and would urge all the relevant stakeholders to extend their support in elimination of encroachment, kundas and unsafe TV/internet cable installations.-PR
