Dr Salman Shah, Advisor to Chief Minister on Economic Affairs and Planning briefed the delegation of Lahore Economic Journalist Association (LEJA) about the thirty years plan and economic situation of Punjab, here in CM House. The delegation discussed the economic development with the advisor. Dr Salman Shah said that these days the most important issue which is being discussed after Kashmir is the economy of the country.

Pakistan has more than a hundred billion dollars foreign debt and the government has to pay at least 10 billion dollars every year against the debt. IMF helped to reduce the current account deficit from $20 billion to $13 billion but also imposed a strict financial condition on us, he added. He said that IMF focuses on micro economy whereas problems with micro economy are affecting the economy at the macro level. That is why PM desires to put Pakistan out of chains from the debt. Telling about the economic plan of Punjab government he said, the government is making comprehensive planning for financial stability.
