The total export cargos of 77,580 tonnes comprised of 45,397 tonnes of containerised cargo; 23,183 tonnes of clinkers and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,687 containers comprising of 4,203 containers import and 4,484 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,504 of 20's and 1,329 of 40's loaded while 03 of 20's and 19 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,065 of 20's and 1,236 of 40's loaded containers while 191 of 20's and 378 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely APL Paris, APL Chongqing, Greenwich Bridge, YM Fountain and Rainbow Island carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. APL Chongqing, Los Angeles Trader, Xin Mei Zhou and Dong Ting Hu carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 151,887 tonnes comprising 120,689 tonnes of import cargo and 31,198 tonnes of export cargo including 3,195 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 120,689 tonnes includes 27,440 tonnes of LNG; 41,000 tonnes of coal; 3,848 tonnes of soyabean; 221 tonnes of palm oil; 4,037 tonnes of mogas; 683 tonnes of general cargo; 13,953 tonnes of steel coil and 29,507 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,198 tonnes includes 31,198 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,195 containers comprising of 1,553 containers import and 1,642 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were three ships namely MOL Courage, Do Tong Yun and Aliki Force carrying containers, general cargo and steel coil respectively expected to sail on Friday afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, steel coil, soyabean, coal and LNG respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as five vessels viz. St Sofia, African Robin, Red Fin, Star Mistral and Al-Deebel carrying coal and LNG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four ships viz. APL Paris, African Robin, Red Fin and Al-Deebel carrying containers, coal and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Friday. There was one ship namely APL Paris carrying containers due to arrive on Friday, while two more ships namely Cape Male and Maersk Jalan carrying containers are due to arrive on Saturday.
