Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar on Tuesday said that KMC has initiated fumigation drive in parts of the city which would help eliminating flies, mosquitoes and other germs from the metropolis. Since recent rains in Karachi, he said a concern was created in the city on sudden increase in the numbers of flies and mosquitoes, however we took immediate action and carried out spray two times earlier and now again started it third time.

He said this while inaugurating the spray drive in district central along with district chairman Rehan Hashmi. The mayor said that elected representatives were continuing their efforts in the city and all available resources will be used to provide maximum facilities to citizens.

He said that spray was done in district central on Tuesday and fumigation will be carried out in district south today and in district east on 26th September in district west on 27th September and spray will be done in district council Karachi areas on 28th September for which 40 spray vehicles were being used.
