Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Tuesday skipped his appearance before National Accountability Court (NAB) and requested for another date for appearing before the Bureau in connection with the fake bank accounts case. The NAB had summoned him for September 24 to investigate him in connection with the sale of Thatta and Dawood Sugar Mills as then provincial finance minister and the payments for the mills were made through fake bank accounts.

Shah through a letter to the NAB sought fresh dates for his appearance and also sought the questionnaire, saying he received the letter late and will appear before the NAB on any fresh date. The top anti-graft body had summoned him on September 17 in Karachi when he did not appear and was summoned again on September 24 in Islamabad. The Sindh chief minister was earlier summoned by the NAB on Sept 17, but refused to appear before the anti-graft body citing engagements.
