The Karachi Port handled 126,920 tonnes of cargo comprising 95,033 tonnes of import cargo and 31,887 tonnes of export cargo including 2,892 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.

The total import cargos of 95,033 tonnes comprised of 23,120 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,310 tonnes of DPA and 62,603 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 31,887 tonnes comprised of 14,687 tonnes of containerised cargo; 17,200 tonnes of clinkers and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 2,892 containers comprising of 1,663 containers import and 1,229 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 591 of 20's and 289 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 246 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 230 of 20's and 193 of 40's loaded containers while 365 of 20's and 124 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were four ships namely Northern Dedication, Hyundai Jakarta, MT Karachi and Atlantic Star carrying containers, oil tanker and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were seven vessels viz. Beijing Bridge, Diyala, Palomar, Sea Power, Chemtrans Arotic, Chemroad Quest and Santa Rita carrying containers, oil tankers and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 166,335 tonnes comprising 142,566 tonnes of import cargo and 23,769 tonnes of export cargo including 1,513 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 142,566 tonnes includes 52,820 tonnes of LNG; 46,200 tonnes of coal; 6,982 tonnes of mogas; 10,000 tonnes of soyabean; palm oil; 21,586 tonnes of chemical and 4,978 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 23,769 tonnes includes 23,769 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 1,513 containers comprising of 262 containers import and 1,251 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There were two ships namely Atlantic Flosta and Nor Star Intrepid carrying containers and mogas respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while five more ships namely Ocean Enterprise, Angle-II, Houyo Shi Park, Golar Snow and Sheehaniya carrying coal, chemical and LNG respectively expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and mogas respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as nine vessels viz. MSC Busan, W-Star, Noutical Jennifer, Am Ocean Pride, Alam Mulaira, Red Fin, Waveson Ruby, Maran Gas Coronis and Estia carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LNG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four ships viz. MSC Busan, Noutical Jennifer, Waveson Ruby and Estia carrying containers, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.

There are two ships namely MSC Tomoko and Maersk Kinloss carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
