Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures rose on Thursday after the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported export sales above expectations and as hopes that renewed US-China talks move both countries toward a trade deal, traders said. Gains were limited by forecasts for above-normal temperatures across much of the US Midwest into early autumn. The weather outlook lessened fears that some soyabeans could get hit by yield-damaging frost.

CBOT November soyabeans settled 4-1/4 cents higher at $8.93 per bushel. The contract held chart support at its 100-day moving average. CBOT December soyameal ended up 70 cents at $296.10 per short ton and December soyaoil fell 0.03 cent to settle to 29.97 cents per pound.
