The management of Naya Nazimabd Gymkhana has organized the first Floodlight Departmental Football Tournament at Naya Nazimabad Football Ground with the title Naya Nazimabad Festival Football Tournament 2019. The ten-day tournament was commenced on Thursday 19th September 2019 and will continue till Sunday 29th September 2019. Six departmental teams including National Bank of Pakistan, Civil Aviation Authority, Sindh Police, Pakistan Works Department, Football Club Karachi (Pvt) Ltd and Karachi United are participating in this festival tournament.

The opening match was played between Pakistan Works Department and Football Club (Karachi) which ended up with a tie as both teams could not score any goal but gained one point each. Opening ceremony of the tournament was honored by CEO Naya Nazimabad Samad Habib, President Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana Syed Muhammad Talha along with the chief guest Mrs. Asma Muhammad Ali Shah, President Defclaria Raja Mazhar and others.

According to Syed Muhammad Talha the initiative is primarily to support sporting activities by enlightening the hidden talent in our youth and to promote Football which is already quite ignored in our society.
