Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed on Thursday his country's full support to Saudi Arabia following last weekend attacks on the kingdom's oil facilities, the Saudi Press Agency reported. "Pakistan fully supports the kingdom with all its capacities in confronting these sabotage acts," the state news agency cited him as saying during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah.-Reuters

BR Staff Reporter adds: Prime Minister Imran Khan who reached Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit on Thursday met with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and apprised him of the latest situation in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan met Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in Saudi Arabia and condemned the attack on Saudi oil refinery. The Prime Minister also discussed the Kashmir situation with the Crown Prince and highlighted the tyranny of Indian government in Kashmir," according to the official Twitter handle of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfikar Bukhari, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, and Pakistan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Ejaz accompanied the Prime Minister during the meeting.

Earlier, the Prime Minister along with his delegation reached Jeddah for a two-day visit to the kingdom, ahead of his trip to New York for attending the 74th Session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The Prime Minister was received by Governor Makkah Khalid Al-Faisal at the Jeddah Royal Terminal.

According to Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal, Prime Minister Imran Khan will discuss with the Saudi leadership the various dimensions of the grave situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, arising from India's illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019.

He said that the Prime Minister has been in regular contact on the Kashmir issue with Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman. Since the visit to Pakistan by the Crown Prince in February 2019, he said that there is a growing momentum in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations in all areas of cooperation.

During the Prime Minister's visit, he said that the two sides will discuss ways of further strengthening the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

"Pakistan-Saudi relations are traditionally marked by warmth and mutual trust. The Prime Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia will further reinforce the close fraternal ties between the two countries and deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields," the spokesperson added.
