Official sources said the Supreme Court of Pakistan in its CM A NO. 226/2006 /PLD 2007 SC-35, directed the authority concerned for the revision of the manual of Pension Rules, 2006. The apex court further ordered to initiate preparatory work on pension papers of the relevant employees, at least one year prior the expected date of retirement, with a view to finalise the pension cases for payment well in time.
Sources said majority of the employees or families of deceased FBR employees and its field formations currently faced problems on their retirement/ in service death of their loved one, in timely receiving their legal pensions or PM packages dues, following manual pension system.
Keeping the Supreme Court's directives in view and in order to facilitate FBR's retired employees and families of deceased employees for quick disposal of their cases, the FBR pension cell (Admin Wing) with the help of PRAL, has indigenously developed a computerised pension system, they said.
Replying to a question, sources said after successful pilot run of the system, this computerised pension system would subsequently be linked with the system of AGPR. Therefore, the FBR has presently directed the concerned authorities to feed the relevant information regarding retired/deceased employees in the said computerized pension system, which is a sub-component of the 'Human Resource Management System' (HRMS) of FBR.
