Addressing a press conference on Monday, Zeeshan Durrani father of deceased student Usman said despite directives by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, police was lenient in investigations. He mentioned that the Inquiry Committee formed by Chief Minister found the school administration of negligence, which resulted in this tragic incidence.
He said even after a week, police has allegedly failed to secure the CCTV footage of the incident, not even the statements of school administrators and principal were noted by police.
He said that administration of Habib Public School was not cooperating with the investigation and removing the evidence of the criminal negligence in their part that caused the death of their own student. He informed that the Principal of School misstated the timetable of Usman's swimming class in her report submitted to Secretary Sindh Education, which is evident from the official time table of the students.
Zeeshani Durrani informed the press conference that when SP Investigation asked about the CCTV footage of the incident, she said that there were no CCTVs on the swimming pool. However, when Zeeshan Durrani visited the school with the Investigation Officer (IO) after the incident CCTVs were found on the swimming pool. Durrani informed that they had taken photos of the CCTVs installed on the swimming pool.
Zeeshan Durrani informed that his son Usman was enrolled in swimming classes and he had only attended around six classes so far, and yet he was left unattended in the 12-ft deep pool.
He demanded of the school administration to present the CCTV footage of the incident before the court.
Zeeshan Durrani appealed to Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Chief Minister Sindh and Governor Sindh to taken stern action in this case and the responsible should be brought to justice, so that other students could be saved.
Expressing dissatisfaction on the pace of investigation, Durrani requested Chief Minister, IG Police and DIG Police to change the investigation team, so that a proper and fair investigation could be conducted.
