Opposition on Monday protested over putting off of their call attention notices, saying that the Sindh ministers lost their interest in the Sindh Assembly proceedings.

The house that saw again a spell of remonstration between the PTI and ruling PPP lawmakers finally was prorogued after tabling 'the Coastal Development Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2019". However, opposition also protested against the absence of concerned minister, who was supposed to table bill himself.

The bill was presented by Sindh Energy Minister, Imtiaz Shaikh, which was referred to the Assembly's standing committee for law for deliberations. PPP's legislator, Zulfiqar Shah raised the non-production of his party central leader and provincial lawmaker, Faryal Talpur for the current sitting. He said that the PPP lawmakers will stick to their party discipline and foil making of a feared forward bloc.

The house failed to raise five attention notices that were mainly from the opposition parties since the concerned ministers were off the scene to reply to the questions and apprehensions of the lawmakers that turned up a protest. PTI's Adeel Ahmed protested over the ministers continuing absence from the legislature, saying that a majority of the ministers does not show up in the house. He said that it was the fourth such session which failed to raise his call attention notices since the concerned ministers was absent. During the questions and answers session of the assembly, Imtiaz Shaikh replied that the government has beefed up the security levels at jails and will not remove jammers. He said that Karachi, Sukkur and Hyderabad jails have been declared as high-security prisons.

To a question by Rana Ansar of MQM, he said that the government will conduct an inquiry to ascertain the missing record of three inmates, who are said to have spent nearly 22 years of their sentence and are still imprisoned.

Rana said that there are three prisoners in the jail whose jail records are missing though they have spent 22 years of their terms. He said that there are four women jails, which have 158 prisoners with 26 children. The house now stands prorogued.
