"From Karachi to Khyber, people of Pakistan stand with Kashmiri brothers," Afridi spoke to the Karachities who gathered at Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam to mark the Kashmir Hour. People from different walks of life on Friday afternoon observed the first Kashmir Hour to denounce the Indian brutalities in the valley and show solidarity with Kashmiris who continue to defy the forced occupation.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail led a rally taken out to observe Kashmir Solidarity Hour at the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in pursuance to the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Federal Minister Faisal Vawda, MNA Dr Amir Liaquat, MNA Aftab Siddiqui, Provincial Assembly Members Jamal Siddiqui, Saeed Afridi, Raja Azhar, Dr Seema, Shujat Qureshi, renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi and people from different walks of life participated in the rally in large numbers.
National Anthem was played and special prayers were offered for the freedom of Kashmir on the occasion. Addressing the rally Governor Imran Ismail said that the nation had responded positively on Prime Minister Imran Khan's call to observe Kashmir Solidarity Hour. The government, army, including all of the armed forces, and the nation were standing by the side of our Kashmiri brethren.
He said that the incumbent government was raising Kashmir issue on each international forum. We want to make it clear to the whole world that Pakistani nation would always stand with Kashmiri people in their struggle for self determination. Imran Ismail said that the international community should play its role to stop Indian atrocities in Kashmir because the lasting peace in the entire region won't be possible without the resolution of Kashmir issue.
He said that UN following its resolutions should interfere and resolve the Kashmir issue. Indian government's cruel face has been exposed. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressing his solidarity with the people of held Kashmir has urged international community to raise their voice against the violation of human rights by Indian government in occupied Kashmir. He said that the people of Kashmir have been struggling for their right of self determination for the last 70 years. Instead of holding plebiscite in held Kashmir the Indian government amended the constitution and balkanised the occupied Kashmir. "This balkanisation is not acceptable to the people of Pakistan and the international community, particularly those who upheld human rights," he said.
Shah recalling Soviet occupation of Afghanistan said it resulted in the division of USSR into different countries. Similarly, the occupation of Kashmir would end up in disintegration of India. "The dream of Mahabharata greater India is bound to shatter and root cause of its shattering would be Kashmir and its valiant people," he said and added the sacrifices of people of occupied Kashmir would bear the fruit.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi observed Kashmir Hour at the Main Campus on account of the recent events of violation of human rights by the Indian government in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as declared by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan. The event was attended by Executive Director, Dr Farrukh Iqbal, Associate Dean, Dr Huma Baqai, IBA staff, faculty and students. The session started with the national anthem of Pakistan followed by the Kashmir anthem.
