KW&SB's strategic pumping station at Dhabeji witnessed yet another power breakdown on Tuesday evening, resulting in suspension of water supply to the city which is already facing a water shortfall of over 50 percent.

The power breakdown occurred at around 7:10pm and lasted for some 15 minutes, the KW&SB officials told. However, water supply to Karachi resumed at 8:10pm. During the period of power outage, around 31 million gallons (MG) of water could not be supplied to the metropolis that has worsened the water woes at different city neighbourhoods.

They said Dhabeji, Hub, and Pipri are the main water supply sources of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) which are frequently observing power cuts this season.
