Punjab Minister for Revenue Malik Muhammad Anwar has said that with a view to providing land Fard and agricultural loans to growers, the Board of Revenue (BoR) will sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a month with 23 commercial banks which would have easy access to land record of farmers. Moreover, 115 new land record centers are being established by the end of December for early computerization of agriculture land record.

Talking to media, the Minister said the farmers would not have to visit land record centers. Now they would get this facility of Fard from nearby bank by paying nominal fee in this regard, he added. He said there are 142 land record centers functional at present who are actively working for computerization of agriculture land of the province. Data of state land has been collected that transformed into a land bank. Malik Muhammad Anwar said in order to dispose of state land on profitable basis an effective lease policy is underway which would soon be presented to the provincial cabinet for seeking its approval. The Minister observed that sites of petrol pumps set up on state land were leased by the previous governments to their dear ones on throwaway rates whereas the present government has collected millions of rupees by auctioning these sites in a transparent manner.

Col Muhammad Anwar said that the BoR is going to purchase 20 new mobile vans having latest technology to provide facilities relating to Fard to farmers at their doorsteps.
