Veteran actress Zaheen Tahira passed away on Thursday in Karachi, family sources said. She was 70. Iconic actress Zaheen Tahira was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi after suffering a major cardiac arrest. The 70-year-old 'Khuda Ki Basti' actress was put on the ventilator after the heart attack.

The legendary actress started her career in the 1960s and dominated TV screens till the 1980s portraying strong characters mainly from PTV Karachi centre.

Over the course of her journey, she has appeared in over 700 drama serials in lead and supporting roles. Tahira has also produced and directed a few television series.
