The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Industries department and Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) would set up Institute of Petroleum Technology at KP Energy and Power Department Karak, said Secretary Energy and Power Engr Sarfaraz Durrani here on Wednesday.

Presiding over the first technical committee meeting, he said that institute would be set up at a cost of Rs2053 million for which Rs28 million would be provided on lease.

He said that in the light of decision of BOGs soon an agreement between TEVTA and Industry Department would be signed so that formal classes could be started at the institute.

The Secretary said that a special committee would be constituted to revise the PC-I of the project under PSDP and ADP and would finalize recommendations in ten days.
