The Karachi Port handled 114,810 tonnes of cargo comprising 64,549 tonnes of import cargo and 50,261 tonnes of export cargo including 4,740 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 64,549 tonnes comprised of 37,959 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,540 tonnes of rock phosphate and 25,050 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 50,261 tonnes comprised of 26,601 tonnes of containerised cargo; 476 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,390 tonnes of wheat; 4,418 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 16,376 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 4,740 containers comprising of 2,799 containers import and 1,941 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 753 of 20's and 903 of 40's loaded while 70 of 20's and 85 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 776 of 20's and 457 of 40's loaded containers while 101 of 20's and 75 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were six ships namely Diyala, GH Zephyr, Beijing Bridge, MT Lahore, Al Mahboobah and Mohar carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical and cement respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were seven vessels viz. Botany Bay, Conti Paris, Ever Unison, Ubena, Wieland, MT Karachi and Scot Bayern carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 92,076 tonnes comprising 82,576 tonnes of import cargo and 9,500 tonnes of export cargo including 1,514 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 82,576 tonnes includes 8,400 tonnes of LNG; 24,567 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,000 tonnes of palm oil; 15,938 tonnes of coal; 3,940 tonnes of soyabean; 2,605 tonnes of general cargo; 2,860 tonnes of chemical and 19,266 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 9,500 tonnes includes 9,500 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 1,479 containers comprising of 137 containers import and 1,342 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There were three ships namely Milaha Qatar, Hong Dai and Al-Salam-II carrying containers, coal and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely MSC Joanna, Xin Yi Hai-55, Yasa Ilhan and SC Hai Kou carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel coil, coal, soyabean, diesel oil, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as fourteen vessels viz. CPO Bremen, Pyxis Ocean, Hai Ji, Bosch Hoek, Coral Gem, Sea Hope-II, Ocean Bao, Aeriko, Zealand Amsterdam, Kamilla Kosan, VMT Bamzi, Shalamar, BW Panthar and Star Osprey respectively carrying containers, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, chemical, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six vessels viz. CPO Bremen, Maersk Atlanta, IVS Bosch Hoek, Coral Gem, Pyxis Ocean and VMT Bamzi carrying containers, coal, soyabean and furnace oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There was one ship namely Maersk Atlanta carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Generosity carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
