At least three Levies personnel were martyred while another sustained severe injuries on Saturday after a bomb destroyed a check post in Shewa district of North Waziristan. The explosion took place in Raghzai area of the tribal district when the security personnel were performing their duties. The explosives were reportedly planted prior to the blast at the check post. The bomb exploded as the Levies personnel arrived at the check post and the martyred and injured security personnel were local residents of the area.

Two Levies personnel died on the spot, while two others were injured. The Injured personnel were immediately shifted to hospital, where other personnel succumbed to his injuries.

The martyred and injured personnel were residents of the same area. The deceased personnel were identified as Ameer Zaman, Abdul Wali and Nambut Khan. The officers said that the explosive material was placed near the checkpost. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area while search operation has also been launched. The attack on the check post came a day after one security personnel lost his life and three others were injured in a landmine blast in North Waziristan. The security personnel were busy in a search operation in Dosali area of Razmak sub-division, when an improvised explosive device exploded on them.
