He further said that in last two weeks more than fifteen cold drinks productions units have been sealed across all seven districts of the province during which more than 0.15 million liters of fake cold drinks discarded.
"Those involved in counterfeit cold drinks business would be brought to justice. Public has the trust of the food authority and they can identify such sites where adulteration occurs," the director general maintained.
Director Operations Khalid Khan Khattak giving details said that food authority teams got information that noodles of a company contain china salt which is banned by the apex court. Khalid Khattak deputed a team of Food Safety Officers Ahmad Ali Shah and Adeel Ahmad who investigated the matter and confirmed existence of china salt in the noodles.
"They picked up all the stock of three thousand packets and sealed the premises till compliance. Similar stock is banned in all other provinces and the brand diverted the supply here in KP rather recalling it from the market," he said.
On the other hand, Deputy Director Kohat Kamran Yosafzai told that his team led by Assistant Director Dr Rukhsar Ali has sealed the fifth counterfeit cold drinks production unit during a crackdown conducted this morning.
He explained that more than fifteen thousand liters of fake cold drinks were discarded while production unit is sealed for further activities. He also said that owners of production unit were handed over to police for further necessary action.
