Directorate General Intelligence & Investigation-Inland Revenue Hyderabad Tuesday destroyed non-duty paid confiscated cigarettes, containing more than ten million sticks, it is learnt. Director General Investigation IR Islamabad visited the office of Directorate of Inland Revenue Hyderabad where he held a detailed meeting with the officers of the Directorate. Having been satisfied with the all over performance of the Directorate, the Director General appreciated the performance of the officers Directorate Hyderabad.

Thereafter he attended the ceremony of destruction of non-duty paid confiscated Cigarettes. On this occasion, in order to expedite the drive against tax evaders, the Director General Directed to the Officers of Inland Revenue to gear up their efforts in unearthing those tax evaders who are involved in illicit tobacco trade, fake and flying sales tax invoices. He further emphasized that taxes collection is extremely important for the sustained development better education and health facility for the country.

However, the Director General Intelligence & Investigation-IR Islamabad also had a comprehensive meeting with the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Shahid Iqbal Baloch, at Regional Tax Office Hyderabad and discussed about the strategy as to how to bring the tax defaulter in the tax net.
