The total export cargos of 69,423 tonnes comprised of 37,208 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26,130 tonnes of clinkers, 1,048 bulk cargo, and 5,037 tonnes of rice. As many as 8,798 containers comprising of 4,168 containers import and 4,630 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,258 of 20's and 1,374 of 40's loaded while 4 of 20's and 79 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 768 of 20's and 702 of 40's loaded containers while 602 of 20's and 928 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely Navig-8, M. T Lahore, Bow Cedar, Glorious and KMTC Dubai carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. J D S Ikazuchi, Chem Tiger, Al Salam -II and CMA CGM Norma carrying containers and tanker currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 171,799 tonnes comprising 142,482 tonnes of import cargo and 29,317 tonnes of export cargo including 5,641 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 142,482 tonnes includes 77,862 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,450 tonnes of palm oil; 30,986 tonnes of coal; 1,177 tonnes of steel coil; 18,007 tonnes of canola seeds and 1000 tonnes of bitumen.
The total export cargo of 29,317 tonnes includes and 29,317 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A total number of 5,641 containers comprising 3,650 containers 9TEUs), (4,098 TEUs imports and 1,543 TEUs exports) was handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There were two ships bulk cargo carrier Safe Victory and container vessel MaerskColumbus are expected to sail on Mondayin the afternoon. There were five ships APL Miami, Maersk Columbus, Serentas and Krifi Amber carrying containers coal, bitumen, and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal-Purposa Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday 08th January-2019.
A total number of eleven vessels were currently occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, bitumen, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively.
