Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi on Saturday suspended from service Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Pind Dadan Khan for refusing to initiate legal action and misbehaving with a complainant who had submitted his complaint on IGP Complaint Cell 8787. On December 24, a citizen Faisal Ejaz, had lodged a complaint through IGP Complaint Cell 8787 that he along with his two friends was going to Chakwal on December 17 when four individuals met them near Pind Dadan Khan and looted around Rs450,000 from them under the influence of weapons.

Before submitting the application at the Complaint Cell, Faisal had submitted an application for the registration of an FIR to SHO Pind Dadan Khan but all in vain. Meanwhile, Faisal lodged a complaint on the IGP's Complaint Cell which was sent to DSP Pind Dadan Khan for taking legal action. An official said that instead of taking action, the DSP misbehaved with the complainant. She added that when the matter came into the knowledge of the IG during a meeting held at the central police office (CPO) on Saturday, he suspended the DSP for his negligence. Addressing the meeting, the IG expressed his anger and asked why the performance of the cops is not improving even after getting postings of their choices.
