The government has declared public holiday. The newspapers will bring out special supplements while TV channels will present special programmes. Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions will be taken out across the country and Mehfil-e-Milad will also be held to celebrate the occasion. Other activities like Seerat moots, seminars, conferences and discussion programmes will be held to mark the event.
Streets and roads as well as bazaars, shopping centres and government and private buildings, have been beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colours, and banners bearing the writings about the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) across the country.
Vendors have also set up colourful stalls with a unique collection of badges, stickers, flags and banners inscribed with religious slogans to pay respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) across the country.
Federal and provincial governments have prepared contingency security plans with coordination of other law enforcement agencies to guard the processions and other events to be held on the day. Special checking of the route would be completed before the procession starts.
As per security plan, processions and Milad gatherings would be provided security. On the main procession routes, CCTV cameras walkthrough gates and metal detectors would be used to check participants.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) also finalised the arrangements for the provision of effective emergency cover. Around 11,000 rescuers will perform their duties in three shifts across the province.
According to the emergency plan, rescue personnel shall also remain in close coordination with other related agencies and services in control rooms established in the districts and provincial monitoring cells. The provincial monitoring cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) shall also remain operational round-the-clock to monitor all districts and to provide directions, assistance and logistics support in case of an emergency.
