Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has approved Rs4 billion for the People's Poverty Reduction Programme (PPRP) in six districts as a similar programme is already in progress in 10 other districts. He approved the above amount on Friday while presiding over a meeting here at Chief Minister House, said a statement.

The meeting was attended by Chairman P&D Mohammad Waseem, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sajjid Jamal Abro, Chairman Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) Shoaib Sultan Khan, SRSO CEO Dittal Kalhoro and other officers concerned.

The Chief Minister said that the provincial government has already launched a Union Council-Based Poverty Reduction Programme (UCBPRP) of Rs3.36 billion with specific objectives to reduce poverty, improve the quality of life of the poor and marginalised communities through social mobilisation, capacity development, assets creation and income generation.
