The federal cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to be expanded with the addition of at least four other ministers. Well-informed sources informed that at least four to five ministers are likely to be inducted in the federal cabinet. Faisal Vawda and Fazal Muhammad Khan are likely to be included along with Ali Amin Gandapur and Senator Azam Swati.

The federal cabinet currently has 19 ministers and four ministers of state. Several prominent ministries are still vacant including science and technology, overseas Pakistanis, transportation, Kashmir affairs, narcotics, and postal services.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is also vacant after Babar Awan resigned as an adviser to face a corruption enquiry. Sources also informed that efforts are being made to convince disgruntled member Muhammad Mian Soomro to be part of the federal cabinet. The former chairman Senate had refused to take oath after not been offered a federal ministry and was instead offered a state ministry.
