Pakistan Tuesday rejected the allegations levelled by a senior Afghan official, saying the country is making sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region. "Pakistan dismisses reported comments by Deputy Spokesperson of the Afghan Chief Executive, Omid Meysam on September 03, 2018," said Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal.

He said that Pakistan is making untiring and sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in the region given its own serious stakes and security concerns, and not in return for any financial compensation.

"Improving internal security situation in Afghanistan, which is the source of regional and international terrorist threats, remains Afghan government's exclusive responsibility together with its international partners," he said, adding Pakistan has been wholeheartedly supporting these efforts.

"It is, therefore, important to avoid comments which would vitiate the existing positive spirit of cooperation in Pak-Afghan bilateral relations," the spokesperson insisted.
